honestly, it doesn't even hurt until the toe gets feeling back, they give a really long lasting numbing medicine, and once your toe is numb, you don't really feel anything at all, the only problem is getting the medicine injected into your toe, it doesn't hurt, it actually just feels weird, honestly it feels like they're stuffing your toe with a bunch of cotton or something, but like 10 seconds after the stuff is put in your toe, that's it, you can't feel anything and they cut it out with specialized scissors and they bandage it up with a super strong holding band aid so it doesn't come off too soon or while you're doing anything, and then when you wake up the next morning, you'll be in a bit of pain, i would say the MOST painful part of it would have to be getting a shower because the area they cut the nail out of will be very tender
and especially with me, its actually MORE tender because this is the SECOND time it was infected but other than that its pretty easy, however, if you're getting the whole nail permanently removed, going by what they told me, the only difference is, they cut the WHOLE nail out and they stick a q-tip with a specialized acid on it down into where the nail was and it kills the root of the nail so it will never grow back, and they said that one will hurt worse when the numbing medicine wears off
pretty much though, there's not much painful about it other than
1. showering
and
2. soaking your foot in warm or hot Epsom Salt
other than that, it doesn't hurt unless you hit your toe off something lol
